Research vessel assisted distressed yacht crew
On Aug 22, 2021, at around 10.30 a.m., a sailing yacht informed the MRCC of the DGzRS in Bremen about a capsized dinghy in the Orth Bay south of the island of Fehmarn. Four people were sitting on the hull of the boat. Before rescue units of the DGzRS could reach the scene, two small boats, including the dinghy “Aldebaran” of “Capella” managed to take two of them each on board. The “Aldebaran” brought all of them to the port of Orth upon Fehmarn.
