Medevac off Brest
On Jan 7 at noon the CROSS Corsen was alerted after a crew member of the "Bara Heiz" suffered from a neurological problem. After a conference call between the Maritime Medical Consultation Center (MMCC) of Toulouse, the Medical Coordination UAS Maritime (SCMM) Finistère and the CROSS, a medical evacuation was decided. The trawler was located 62 nautical southwest off Brest. The CROSS Corsen alerted a Cayman Navy helicopter of the 33F fleet which took off at 12:43 p.m. of the naval air base Lanvéoc-Poulmic with a medical team on board. At 1:26 p.m., the Cayman airlifted the patien who was transferred to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest where he was delivered at 2:11 p.m.
Medevac off Penmarc'h
On Sep 29, 2013, at 6:40 p.m. the CROSS Etel was alerted by the "Bara Heiz" after aone of the crew members, a man of 43 years, fell ill. The ship was 70 nautical miles off the tip of Penmarc'h at that time. After consultation with the CCMS Toulouse, which confirmed the need to evacuate the sick man, the CROSS dispatched a NH90 helicopter, based in Lanvéoc. with a medical team on board to carry out a medevac. The man was hoisted at 9:15 p.m. and transferred to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest.
