Thailand’s Terminal Hosts First Q-Max LNG Carrier

Mon Aug 14 12:41:17 CEST 2017 arnekiel

The liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Bu Samra has delivered the first Q-Max cargo of LNG to Thailand’s Map Ta Phut import terminal under a long-term sale and purchase agreement (SPA). The vessel, operated by Doha-based liquefied natural gas company Qatargas, carried the cargo as part of a deal between Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited – 3 (Qatargas 3) and PTT Public Company Limited. The LNG shipment arrived in Thailand on August 5. This is the first Q-Max vessel to arrive at Thailand’s first LNG receiving terminal since the startup of the facility in 2011, when Qatargas delivered the first commissioning cargo to Map Ta Phut.

Qatargas yesterday delivered its first Q-Max Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargo to China, delivered by the Q-Max vessel, Bu Samra. This is the first Qatari LNG Q-Max cargo delivered to PetroChina's recently commissioned LNG receiving terminal at Rudong, Jiangsu Province, under the long-term contract to supply LNG from Qatar to China which was executed on April 10, 2008 between Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (4) and Shell Western LNG BV. http://www.zawya.com/story.cfm/sidZAWYA20111120032817/First_QMax_LNG_cargo_reaches_China

BU SAMRA 9388833

Fri Apr 22 06:52:44 CEST 2011 arnekiel

One of the world's largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers docked at Britain's Isle of Grain terminal on Wednesday for the first time, Reuters reports. Qatar's Bu Samra, which can carry 265,000 cubic metres of LNG, is the first Q-Max tanker to arrive at the terminal in Kent since a new jetty allowed them to dock in December 2010. "Liquefied natural gas will play an increasingly important role in helping to meet the UK's future energy needs," Centrica Energy Managing Director Mark Hanafin said in a statement. "It's vital that we have terminals like this that have the capability to receive large carriers such as the Q-Max." Centrica (CNA.L), the owner of British Gas, signed a deal in February with Qatargas, to be finalised this week, to buy 2.4 million tonnes of LNG a year via the Isle of Grain. http://en.portnews.ru/news/27797/
