Fire on offshore ship

On the evening of Jan 8, 2025, a fire broke out in the engine room of the “Bram Force” while it was operating in the Campos Basin, close to the P-37 platform of the oil company Petrobrás. Other offshore tugs were mobilized to contain the fire and minimize risks. The fire has been brought under control after approximately 12 hours. All crew members were safely evacuated and rescued by a Maersk vessel. The ship was to be towed to the Port of Açu. An Administrative Inquiry into Accidents and Facts of Navigation (IAFN) will be opened to determine the causes, circumstances and possible responsibilities. Sindipetro-NF was investigating the accident along with Petrobrás, although it does not represent maritime workers.
