The "BKM 102" is now on a slipway in Karratha undergoing repairs after it ran aground near the Gorgon natural gas project off the north-west coast of Western Australia. The Multi-cat vessel "BKM 102" was working on the Gorgon Project off Barrow Island at 9:30 p.m. on 6 February when it ran over the dredge anchor, ripping open its hold and oil tank. The Dutch dredging contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster then tried to sail for Dampier but the crew refused, fearing it would sink. Joint venture partner Chevron said emergency response procedures were activated to secure the vessel and contain its fuel. A small amount of oil had leaked but was contained, and a marine incident investigation is under way.

On Feb 6, 2011, the "Boskalis BKM 102" ran aground near the $43 billion Gorgon gas project on Barrow Island. The dredger spilled a small amount of fuel into the water near the A class nature reserve. Clean up measures were carried out immediately and the spill did not seriously affect the environment. The "Boskalis BKM 102" was towed to Dampier for repairs. The ship had suffered a gaping big hole five metres wide, with water and oil flooding in, when it made a run for the beach. The crew of four crew had made it to shore, but a safety dispute arose when the Dutch captain wanted them to stay on board for the tow to Dampier.
