Wreck removal has commenced
Wreck removal operations for the "Bereket" have commenced in the mid of October, 2018 and were expected to be completed in the beginning of November.

Wreck removal operation for the "Bereket" will start upon completion of environmental formalities. The vessel remained sunk at Istanbul anchorage as of July 22.
Wreck removal due to start
The final wreck removal operation for the "Bereket" was approved by the port captain of Istanbul. A salvage and wreck removal company was appointed for this task by the Maritime Authority, and the operation was expected to commence on June 20. The vessel remained stationary at the grounding position, at Istanbul anchorage.
