Tue Sep 14 13:44:46 CEST 2021 Timsen

On Sep 14, at 2.30 a.m. the 'Lisa Auerbach', en route to Ho Chi Minh City, was in collision with the Vietnamese cargo m/v 'My An 1' (IMO:9060728), which was carrying 9,900 tons of clinker and had 40 tons bunker fuel on board, which sank in the Vung Tau mooring area at anchorage 18. The 'Lisa Auerbach' had left her anchorage position and headed west, making about 10 knots, and hit the anchored bulk carrier. All its 17 crew members were rescued by the 'Lisa Auerbach'. The Vung Tau Port Authority coordinated the response. Forces were mobilized to the position oto keep watch to warn other ships not to move near this area. Tthe Maritime Administration was coordinating with relevant agencies to install buoys around the location and to respond to oil spills at sea. As the wreck position was far from the fairway channel, it did not affect ship traffic. The mast and smokestack were still protruding from the water.
