Cruise ship sold to Sycamore Partners

Tue Jan 26 11:56:49 CET 2021 Timsen

Sycamore Partners is the new owner of the 'Pacific Princess' as the private equity firm has not only bought Azamara, but was adding a fourth R-class ship to the fleet. The ship is comparable in size to the three sister ships. Just like the 'Azamara Journey', 'Azamara Quest' and 'Azamara Pursuit' she will be able to sail into intimate rivers, visit smaller, as well as less-crowded ports other vessels can’t access. The ship will sail its inaugural season in Europe in 2022.

Four Hawaii residents disembarked

Tue Apr 14 13:05:29 CEST 2020 Timsen

Four Hawaii residents were allowed to disembark from the 'Pacific Princess' at Honolulu Harbor on April 14. The four ― two Oahu couples ― were screened as they disembarked and did not have any symptoms of COVID 19. They were shuttled to their homes with a police escorts to being a 14-day quarantine. No one else on the cruise ship was allowed to disembark. The vessel was refueling before continuing on to its final destination Los Angeles.

111 passengers still on board on final leg

Mon Apr 13 17:01:45 CEST 2020 Timsen

The 'Pacific Princess' which had eft Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades on Jan. 5 for a 111-day world cruise, has disembarked most passengers who flew home when the ship docked on March 21 in Fremantle. 115 passengers remained on board. Some did not meet the International Air Transport Association’s fitness standards for air travel. Others were unable to return home by aircraft due to individual medical conditions unrelated to COVID-19. The plans were to disembark four Hawaiian residents in Honolulu on Apil 13, when the vessel docks to refuel. From there the vessel will sail to Los Angeles to unload the other 111 passengers on April 24.
