Container ship left Syros after repairs
The 'Atlantic Silver', which had suffered a mechanical failure in pos. 37 08 38 N 025 07 40 E, northwest of Paros island, on Nov 8, 2023, and got a sailing ban issued by Port Authority of Syros until the damage was repaired, finally sailed from Syros on Dec 19, headed to Marsaxxlok.
Disabled container ship towed to Varis
The Port Authorities of Syros and Paros were informed about the lack of control due to a mechanical failure of the 'Atlantic Silver', en route from Ermoupolis to Marxaxxlokk with 20 crew members on board in pos. 37 08 38 N, 025 07 40 E northwest of Paros in the evening of Nov 8, 2023. The tugs Megalochari X' and 'Panagia B' took the ship in tow and pulled it to the bay of Varis, Syros, where it was safely moored. The Port Authority of Syros banned the ship from sailing until the damage was repaired and a certificate of seaworthiness issued by the surveyor monitoring the vessel.
