Medevac off Dauphin Island
The US Coast Guard medevaced a 30-year-old man from the 'Astraea SB' on Nov 9, 2023, approximately nine nautical miles south of Dauphin Island, Alabama. Coast Guard Sector Mobile watchstanders received a report from the ship of a man experiencing symptoms of labored breathing and high blood pressure. They coordinated the launch of a Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island 45-foot boat. The crew arrived on scene, but due to safety concerns, was unable to conduct the transfer. Watchstanders then launched a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew to conduct the medevac. The aircrew arrived on scene, hoisted the man aboard the helicopter and transported him to Mobile International Airport and transferred him to emergency medical services personnel. AM Nomikos pays $12.35m for United Ocean kamsarmax
AM Nomikos Transworld Maritime Agencies has sealed its reputation as a deft buyer of distressed bulker assets. The Greek outfit has emerged as the buyer of one of many United Ocean bulkers that have flooded the market since the Japanese tonnage provider went bankrupt at the end of last year. AM Nomikos has picked up the 2009-built kamsarmax United Serenity for $12.35m. Brokers had earlier suggested incorrectly this ship had been snapped up by Ebe. AM Nomikos has since renamed the ship Astraea SB. http://splash247.com/nomikos-pays-12-35m-united-ocean-kamsarmax/
