Captain intoxicated in Brunsbüttel
When the “Tyumen 2″ on Jan 8, 2014, at 8.55 p.m. enroute from Hamburg to Sczcecin entered the small southern lock of the Kiel Canal in Brunsbüttel, the police remarked a strange behaviour of the master and smelt alcohol. When the man was breathalyzed, he was found intoxicated with 1,6 per mille and sbsuquently a blood sample was taken. The 45-year old man had to pay a safety fine. The ship was detained at the railway pilings in Brunsbüttel while the captain had to spend the night in the seafarer's Mission. The investigations of the police were lasting. On Apr 14, 2011, the "OOCL Finland" had been in collision with the "Tyumen 2" on the Kiel Canal near Fischerhuette, two men died inside the crushed wheel house.
Tyumen 2 back to Russia with a new wheelhouse
After lengthy repairs of collision damage suffered in the Kiel Canal the "Tyumen 2" departed from Glückstadt in the afternoon of Dec 5, 2011, with a brand new wheelhouse. After having berthed at the Bominflot Quay in Kiel on Dec 6 around 3 a.m., final diver surveys of the hulls were undertaken, before the ship departed at 6 p.m. bound for Kaliningrad where conclusive works are to be undertaken.
Repair of collision damage at the quay Glückstadt
