Man jumped over board in Fremantle
Immigration officials were investigating whether a 29-year-old crewman deliberately jumped off the "Antwerp Bridge" leaving Fremantle Harbour in the early morning of Jan 22, 2015. The Filipino man went overboard without a lifejacket shortly after 5 a.m. He had been working on the vessel and was only discovered when crew on a Fremantle Ports pilot boat came across him. The boat had been taking a marine pilot to a different ship when the crew spotted the man swimming to shore about 5.35 a.m. The man was pulled from the water near Rouse Head. He was taken back to port where a waiting ambulance took him to Fremantle Hospital. He was in a stable condition tonight.
