Anmiro back on the track
The "Anmiro" on Apr 17, 2012, sailed from Hamburg after completition of repairs to the damage suffered by fire in port on Apr 2 and had Gunness as its first port of call after returning to service on Apr 20, before sailing back to Hamburg, ETA Apr 29.
Fire caused million damage
The fire in the cargo hold of the "Anmiro" was caused by welding work according to investigations. The damage was assessed to be around one million Euro. On Apr 4 at 6 a.m. the ship shifted to the O'swald-Quay in the Hansa Port of Hamburg.
Fire on ship in Hamburg-Steinwerder
After the "Anmiro" arrived in the Trave Port in Hamburg-Steinwerder with a cargo of 1500 tons cellulose, a fire broke out on Apr 2, 2012, at noon. The fire fighting work was extremely difficult. 80 firefighters were deployed. First the bales which were not alight had to be removed from the cargo hold. The operation was lasting in the evening. There was no danger of the fire spreading to other parts of the ships. The fire brigade flooded the 50x5-m-cargo hold with water. Then a crane started to remove the contents.
