Grounded bulkcarrier to be lightered
10 days after the grounding of the "Inca Queen" in the Bay of Buenaventura, the General Maritime Directorate (DIMAR) of Colombia informed that on Nov 8 the lightering of the cargo was due to start. For this purpose, the m/v "Paz Navigator" was called from Barranquilla which will go alongside at the starboard side of the "Inca Queen", to receive part of its cargo. The bulk carrier had arrived at the Port of Buenaventura with 46.000 tons of corn. The Harbour Master's Office of Buenaventura will be supervising the work to ensure it is carried out with suitability and in compliance with maritime protocols. As the work took place outside the Buenaventura Bay access channel, it did not affect maritime traffic. After the ship has been refloated and berthed at the SPRBUN Container Terminal on Nov 9 at 11.50 p.m. Spanish report with photo: https://portalportuario.cl/colombia-buque-inca-queen-comenzara-a-ser-desvarado-en-la-zona-portuaria-de-buenaventura/
