LNG carrier “Amur River” departs for his first voyage under Sakhalin-2 project
On July 31, from port Prigorodnoye, the LNG carrier “Amur River” has departed for his first voyage with the liquefied natural gas cargo of 149 700 cubic metres, Sakhalin Energy says. The agreement on the vessel freight for Sakhalin Energy was signed between the company and “Gazprom Marketing and Trading” in April 2014. The “Amur River” is equipped with cargo membrane tanks with total capacity of 149 700 cubic metres. The tanker is completely fitted for working under low temperatures and can work in ice conditions with the ice class 1A FS. This is the key condition for year-round LNG transportation from the LNG jetty of the Sakhalin-2 project in Prigorodnoye port. The vessel will deliver LNG produced at the first in Russia LNG plant to the countries in Asia-Pacific. The Sakhalin Energy fleet of LNG carriers now consists of five tankers. In addition, LNG from Sakhalin-2 LNG plant is also delivered by the tankers under the customers’ management. Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd.
