General cargo ship Amur-2505 runs aground on Volga river
The general cargo ship Amur-2505 ran aground on 2837-kilometer mark on Volga river on Oct 24, 2016. The vessel, carrying 2,110 tons of carbamide, was en route from Turkmenistan to Rostov-on-Don, but after engine failure left the fairway and hardly stuck into a mud shallow. The crew made several attempts to refloat the cargo ship by own power, but they failed and was requested assistance from the local authorities. At the scene of grounding was send tug, which should tow the ship to safe depth. The inspection showed that there were no underwater damages of the cargo vessel, but salvage is not yet started. The investigation for the root cause of the accident is underway, but there is no other information available. The traffic at the area was not affected by the grounding. There were no injured people and no water pollution. The cargo of carbamide, or also known as urea, is not a dangerous material and non-toxic. Cargo ship grounded near Ahtubinsk
The "Amur 2505" ran aground on Nov 20, 2014, at 11.30 a.m. Moscow time en route from Saratov to Enzeli Iran with 2358 tons of grain on board in 25 km from Ahtubinsk in the Kalmynka arm of the Volga at km 2726,8. On Nov 21 at 1.45 salvage work started, and at 2.05 p.m. the "Amur-2505" was refloated from the shallows by the tug "Mekhanic Ivlev".

On Jan 16, 2011, the "Onix" was in collision with the "Amur 2505", which was coming from Istanbul, in the Azov sea on pos. 46 51 08 N 037 33 44 E. The "Onix" got a hole in ballast tanks area No 7,8 and in fuel tank of 50 cm volume with 20 mt of diesel oil in it, but no spill reported, maybe due to night time. The superstructure and wheelhouse were also damaged. The vessel listed, but after taking ballast in its starboard tanks got on even keel,the main engine was switched off, the generator running. The "Amur-2505" was slightly damaged in the bow area. At 4 p.m. the m/v "Fobos" started towing the "Onix" to Kerch port. The "Amur-2505" also proceeding to Kerch for repairs.
