Norovirus on river cruise ship
On July 13, 2018, the "Amadeus" berthed in Passau due to an outbreak of norovirus aboard. First the master reported dozends of patients, and several rescue forces attended. It turned out that 13 of the 140 persons on board were caught by the virus. They were treated medically, and four of them were taken to the hospital in Passau. Collision on the Main
On Feb 27, 2016, around midday the "Amadeus“, 1566 gt, was in collsion with the German flagged, self propelled barge "Frankenberg“, 622 ts (EU-No.: 4018100). At 12.30 p.m. the cabin cruise ship, while passing under the railway bridge at Kitzingen, veered off its course, came perpendicular to the fairway and slammed with the bow into the stern of the "Frankenberg" which was moored at the shore. The cabin block of the barge suffered significant damage at starbiard sude, and she broke lose from the moorings and had to be pulled back to the shore by another barge, where she was secured by its crew. When the "Amadeus" backed off, she got onto the embankment above the Kitzinger lck, where she also caused considerable damage. Then the cabin cruiser could be berthed near the lock and attended by the fire rescue of Kitzingen and the police Würzburg. The damage caused was estimated to be several tenthousand Euros. River cruise ship suffered water ingress
The "Amadeus" touched the bottom of the Danube at Traismauer in the St. Pölten district on Oct 25, 2014, and suffered a leak. It was thought the ship ran onto the Steinwurf at the right river shore and suffered a leak. The fire rescue was notified at 8.20 a.m. It was impossible to patch the leak which had fist-size with divers due to the strong currents. Pumps were used to keep drain the water, while the "Amadeus" headed for the AT Linz Yard with the fire rescue on board and berthed at 3 p.m. There were no passengers aboard at the time of the accident.
