Drugs discovered among cargo
On Oct 24, 2023, an undisclosed quantity of drugs was seized on the 'Admiral Bay II' at Queen’s Wharf in Port-of-Spain. Officers from the Customs and Excise Division and T&T Police Service acted on intelligence received and swooped down on the vessel where they conducted a search. The officers found the drugs hidden among the cargo of fruits and vegetables, carried in boxes and crocus bags. The entire crew was expected to be detained for questioning. Ferry suffered technical problems
The ferry service Kjelkenes-Smørhamn had to be supsended in the morning of Sep 27, 2012, as the "Foerdefjord" suffered technicals problems and had to enter a repair yard. It was unknown at which time the ferry service would be resumed.
Ferry disabled due to cooling trouble
On July 30, 2012, the "Foerdefjord" had to be taken out of the Kjelkenes - Smørhamn run due to difficulties with the cooling pump. Fjord 1 hoped to have the vessel operating again on July 31. A replacement ferry was called from Askvoll to start operating at 1 p.m. Meanwhile a passenger boat was inserted.
