Main engine failure at Estrechos
On Feb 3, 2017, the "Seferis" suffered a failure of the main engine off Estrechos. The Spanish offshore tug "Luz de Mar" was called at 10.30 p.m. to assist and towed the bulkcarrier to Algeciras where it dropped anchor on Feb 4 at 5 a.m. The ship left the port again on Feb 10, bound to Gibraltar where it dropped anchor on the port's roads on Feb 13 at 8.30 p.m.
Disabled vessel adrift at Lapseki
Enroute Alexandropolis-Constanta the "Giannis M" suffered engine failure on June 16, 2012, off the Dardanelles at Lapseki and went adrift. The Çananakkale Vessel Traffic Service Center sent the tug "Kurtama 3" to recover the vessel. At 10.50 a.m. the ship was under tow and moored off Gallipoli at noon.
