Ship under tow to Vladivostok
On March 8 at 5 p.m. residual places of the fire on board the 'Vitim' were liquidated. After reconnaissance by the rescuers of the Marine Rescue Service, the rescue tug 'Lazurit' (IMO:8832590) took the vessel, which has been sealed, in tow to Vladivostok After the fire broke out, the ship's emergency crew immediately began to investigate the source and possible localization of the fire. However, it was not possible due to dense smoke, so it was decided to abandon the ship. 30 sailors were evacuated and sent to Vladivostok.
Fire in fishing vessel
In the morning of March 6, 2021, a fire broke out in the fish processing shop on board of the 'Vitim' in the Sea of Japan abut 12 nautical miles Southwest of Askold island, south of Vladivostok. SAR tugs responded to assist, and by 3 a.m. al l30 crew members were safely evacuated, no injures were reported. Firefighting was going on.
