Engine room fire on Bakhtemir River

The 'Vafa-2" caught fire in the Astrakhan region on July 23, 2023, on the Bakhtemir River in the Ikryaninsky district. The fire started in the ship's engine room. Four fire boats and seven emergency personnel were sent to the scene to extinguish the fire. Fire in Astrakhan

A fire broke out aboard the 'Vafa 2' in the South Port of Astrakhan on Dec 2, 2019, at 11.30 a.m. in the cabin area and spread on 20 square meters. Smoke started filling the accomadation block. The fire brigade was alerted and boarded the vessel which was evacuated. The ship had on board a cargo of wood and was being unloaded. The fire was successfully put out. The "Samur 5", loaded with 2572 mt steel, ran aground on the river Volga, enroute from Astrakhan to Noushehr, on Nov 24, 2010. The vessel later was refloated with tug assistance, no spill or damage reported. odin.tc
