Fire on pusher tug
In the night of June 18, 2016, a fire broke out in the engine room and engulfed the superstructure of the "Ursa Major", which was pushing a barge loaded from Taranto to the port of Genova with general cargo off Gioia Tauro. The ships were 16 miles off the Calabrian coast. The 13 crew members saved themselves onto barge. The patrol boat "CP827" of the Coast Guard Bagnara Calabra rescued the crew. The tug was boarded by a team of firefighters with two units, and the fire was extinguished. The helicopter Nemo 11-05 of the Coast Guard took off from the 2º Nucleo of the Catania Air Force and circled overhead.
