Two Norled employees diagnosed with corona virus
Two Norled employees have been diagnosed with the corona virus, the company stated in a press release in the night of Oct 28, 2020. One of them was on board the 'Ullensvang', which was sailing between Mannheller - Fodnes on Oct 26. The other was a crew member o the 'Hjelmeland' which operates the connection Hjelmeland-Nesvik-Skipavik.
Stuck trailer damaged ferry deck
On Nov 6, 2018, a trailer was stuck in the cargo deck of the "Ullensvang" in the afternoon. The trailer with steel construction on the pallet has damaged the deck above. The roof tiles were damaged so that the car deck could not be used. The ferry was sailing with a reduced capacity in the the evening due to damage to the roof deck with its losened plates. Big cars had to take one of the other ferries. At 7 p.m. the ferry was taken out of service for repairs. The crew aimed to be in normal operation on Nov 7.
Ferry due to return
If the Norwegian Maritime Directorate gives green light, thr "Ullensvang" will return to traffic on the Hareid-Sulesund connection during the weekend of Sep 23/24. Actually the ship was still in Hareid. Human failure was the cause of the allision on Sep 1.
