Trawler sank off Oropesa afte rfire

On June 19, 2019, around 10 a.m. the "Tío Antonio" caught fire about ten miles east of Oropesa (Castellón) while fishing. The crew of three fled into a life raft and was safely reovered by the trawler "Blay" which was nearby. At 12.30 p.m. they were dropped off in them around 12.30 in Peñíscola, the base of their trawler which continued to drift in the sea, being completely ablaze. Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR boat ‘Salvamar Sabik‘ and a helicopter whose intervention was not necessary after the rescue. The SAR boat remained in the area to monitor the vessel which was consumed by the fire and later sank.
