Two sailors died in fire
A fire broke out in the superstructure of the "Taehwa 1HO", enroute from Busan to Ulsan, on March 20, 2019, at 5.30 a.m. five kilometers from Odong Island in the Jeolla del Sur province in the East China Sea. The fire started in a cabin, spread around in the superstructure and finally engulfed the bridge. Of the six crew members on board, two died, and four were rescued. Firefighters gained control of the blaze before it reached the cargo tanks. The initially missing sailors, aged 68 and 79, were found dead inside the accomodation area. The ship's chief engineer suffered burns and was taken to a hospital. The ship was moored in pos. 34° 43.54' N 127° 49.70' E.
