Passenger ship saved distressed boat crew
On July 25, 2018, at 11 p.m. the "Sjogull" assisted a boat with four on board at Bjurön, north of Värmdö. Rescue units in the area were alerted to the location. At 11:23 p.m., the passenger ship arrived on scene and took the people off. They were takento a dock on Bjurön where they were picked up by the Coast Guard. At 11:34 p.m., the fireboat RB "Åkersberga" was on site and at 11:42 p.m. the fire was extinguished. The boat was towed into the port by the lifeboat "Pantamera".
Engine room fire off Nacka
The "Sjögull" suffered an engine room fire off Nacka Strand in the afternoon of Apr 30, 2014, around 5 p.m. After the crew issued a mayday call several vessels attended to the scene. Lifeboats from Nacka, Tyreso, Södertörn and Stockholm attended along with the Coast Guard, which attended with the "KBV 031", to extinguish the fire and assisted the seven passengers who were taken to shore with other boats. The fire was tackled with carbonic acid.
