Engine room fire injured two
On Jan 10, 2024, at 11.35 p.m. a fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Sidra', in the traffic separation system off the coast of Silivri, en route from Constanta to Aigio Thedori in the Marmara Sea in pos. 40 51 30 N, 028 18 00 E. Two Turkish crew members were slightly injured. A total of seven tugs from Tekirdağ and the Ambarlı Regional Port Authorities, the 'Bedia Safi', 'Celal Safi', 'Altug 4', 'Alsancak 22', 'Kurtarma-9' and 'Kurtarma-10' was well as the lifeboat 'Kiyi Eminyeti 15' were heading towards the ship. The Coast Guard ship 'CSG 312' was the first to arrive at the ship and evacuated the injured crew members from board. Following the treatment ashore, they were reported to be in good health. After the fire was extinguished, cooling works were completed and the ship towed to the Tuzla Shipyard Area by the tugs 'Kurtarma 9' (IMO: 9598581) and 'Kurtarma 10' (IMO: 9598593) under coordination of the IGTH Center Merkezimiz.
