Fishing vessel caught fire and sank, crew safe
The "Pastor Carrillo" caught fire in the morning of May 5, 2016, around 7.10 a.m. off the coast of Roquetas de Marfive miles south of Almeria, and sank about 09:30 a.m. despite extinction work carried out by the "SAR Mastelero". The three crew members were rescued by the crew of another fishing boat, the "Cañada Soriano", and arrived at Almeria at 8:00 a.m. They were in good health. The Civil Guard, the helicopter Helimer 202 and the "Salvamar Denébola" were too mobilized to the ship after one of the engines had caught fire and quickly engulfed the whole ship.
