Collision in Palembang
The tanker 'Bahari Maju II' (IMO: 9728813) was in collision with the product tanker 'Palu Sipat/Pertamina 1025' at the Pertamina Plaju Jetty in South Sumatra on Jan 27, 2024, after the vessel allegedly lost control due to an engine failure. An initial inspection showed that the 'Palu Supat/Pertamina 1025' only suffered scratches on the starboard side of its hull, which did not affect its operations. Representatives from the 'Bahari Maju II' told the captain of the 'Palu Supat/Pertamina 1025' that they would take responsibility for any repair works that needed to be done.
Explosion on oil tanker in shipyard, 4 workers dead
Oil tanker Palu Sipat suffered an explosion on Apr 14, while under repairs in a ship repair yard in Waruna Nusa Sentana (WNS), Belawan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Three yard workers died immediately, one was taken to hospital with severe burns, and died later in the hospital. No information on vessel’s damages scale, or the cause of explosion.
