Triple allision in Astrakhan

The Iranian cargo m/v "Pars Khazar 2" started to drift in Astrakhan port in the afternoon of Apr 28, 2018, and allided with two other cargo ships moored on the Volga river. First, she struck the anchored Russian freighter "Baltiyskiy 40", which broke off her anchorage. Next she slammed into the "Nardis". The "Pars Khazar 2" sustained a breach of 1x1.5 meters in the ballast tank No. 6 area.

Fire on Volga-Caspian Sea Channel

On Jan 27, 2016, at 6.38 a.m. LT a fire broke out aboard the "Nardis" on the Volga-Caspian Sea Channel at km mark 128. The vessel was en route from Astrakhan to Enzeli. The ice breaker "Kapitan Checkin" came to assist and eevacuate the crew of 11 if necessary. The fire was brought under control jointly by freighter’s crew and the water cannon of the icebreaker. The emergencies ministry also had the rescue ship "Uglich" ready to assist if necessary. According to a preliminary investigation, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the ship’s kitchen. The ship may be brought to the port of Astrakhan for repairs.
