Ferry suffered propulsion issue
The 'Loch Linnhe', serving on the route Tobermory-Kilchoa, suffered a technical issue within the forward Voith unit on Sep 8, which was requiring investigations and sea trials. As a consequence, initally the scheduled departures from Tobermory at 2:30 p.m. and from Kilchoan at 3:15 p.m. were cancelled. A passenger charter vessel of Staffa Tours started operating on Dec 9, with departures from Tobermory at 07:00 a.m. and 09:30 a,m. and from Kilchoan at 08:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. The passenger charter departed from The Harbour Association Pontoons and from the Kilchoan Pier not the CalMac slip. Passengers havbe been advised to pre-purchase tickets online for the charter service as tickets could not be purchased on board. The 'Loch Linnhe' required to move to Ardmaleish for repairs and was set to depart Tobermory on the morning of Sep 11. A further update on the progress of repairs was to be be provided on the afternoon of Sep 12.
Ferry needed extensive repairs and sea trials
The 'Loch Linnhe', serving on the route Largs-Cumbrae, needed extensive repair works. it was required for the vessel to complete substantial sea trials before returning to service. The vessel arrived in Largs on the afternoon of Aug 31.
Ferry suffered technical issue
The 'Loch Linnhe', serving on the route Tayinloan-Gigha, suffered a technical issue with the generator on Jan 29. As a consequence, the scheduled departures from Gigha at 10:30 a.m. and from Tayinloan at 11:00 a,m. had initzally to be cancelled by the operator Calmac. After the issue was successfully adressed, the sailings were reinstated.
