Fire in Argao
The LCT "Lite Ferry 28" caught fire while approaching Taloot Wharf, Argao, in southeast Cebu, upon its arrival from Tagbilaran, Bohol, in the morning of Sep 2, 2018. The ship with 97 passengers and 27 crew membrs on board was 300 meters away from the pier, when the fire broke out in the engine room at 11.5 a.m. The LCT "Miami", a private cargo ship docked at the Port of Taloot, rushed to rescue everyone aboard the ferry. The PCG's BRP "Capones" as well as the "MCS 3007" of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources also helped in putting out the fire. The ferry was towed to shore at 12:45 p.m. At the Taloot Wharf, Argao, she was subject of further investigations.
