Fire on torpedo boat
Four people had to be checked for smoke inhalation following a minor fire in the engine room of the KNM 'Storm' at Haakonsvern on Oct 10, 2019, just before 3 p.m. They were sent home and will be followed up on Oct 11. The cause of the fire which occurred in connection with testing of the gear system was currently uncertain. Smoke divers were sent in to extinguish the fire which was quickly put out. They were also assisted by the fire station at Haakonsvern. The police launched an investigation. The amount of damage was currently unclear as the engine room first had to be ventilated.
