Engine room fire in Gulf of Finland
The 'Griftbor' had a fire on board on Oct 24, 2019, at 10.35 a.m. in the Gulf of Finland, while en route from Kunda to Monsteras, loaded with 3077 tonnes of coniferous pulp wood in the hold and on deck. The fire was extinguished by the crew using portable fire extinguishers. The vessel deviated to Tallinn where it arrived at Paljassaare 36 at 09 a.m. on Oct 25 for damage inspection and repairs. The repairs were completed on Nov 23, and the vessel sailed from Tallinnat 6 p.m. bound to Sodra Monsteras where it arrived on Nov 25 at 9.15 a.m.
Vessel left Harghamn after grounding
After its grounding, the "Griftbor" has left the port of Hargshamn again and berthed at the Stockholm Ferry Terminal on Oct 9.
Grounding off Harshamn
The "Griftbor" ran aground shortly after leaving Hargshamn on Oct 5 at 11.30 a.m., while en route to Stockholm. She had veered off the fairway after a blackout and ran aground at 4-5 knots speed. There was some damage to the ballast tanks in the foreship. No oil leakage has been reported. The Swedish Coast Guard sent the patrol boats "KBV 315" and "KBV 202". During the day a Coast Guard diver investigated the hull. Jointly with the Transport Agency decisions on further action were taken. The police launched a preliminary investigation, and the Coast Guard assisted regarding negligence in sea traffic. On Oct 6 the ship got off with own power and returned to Hargsham and 3.15 p.m., escorted by the "KBV 202". Durng the weekend the ship was to be surveyed regarding its seaworthyness.
