Fire in Båtsfjord

On Dec 4, 2019, at 05.21 a.m. the Finnmark police received a report of a fire aboard the 'Galatis' which was berthed at the Neptune Quay in Båtsfjord. All three people on board saved themselves from the trawler. The fire department in Båtsfjord arrived at the spot at 06.30 a.m., assisted from the Tana fire department. The fire was under control around 7 a.m. Also the NSSR lifeboat 'Reidar von Koss' attended as well as an ambulance crew and the Norwegian Coastal Administration. They have assisted the fire department in refilling the bottles during the extinguishing work. Nearby ships were relocated as a precaution. At 7.20 a.m. the police reported that the fire has been put out.
