The CROSS Jobourg was informed by the trawler that a fire had broken out after the explosion in the engine room, 17 nautical miles north of Port-en-Bessin. The two crew members were able to board a raft and were taken on board the "François Elie" which was nearby. Also the emergency tug "Abeille Liberté" with two marine fire fighters from Cherbourg and Equipment was dispatched. Around 2 a.m. on Feb 25 the "Pluvier" arrived on the scene and started the fight against the fire, followed by the "Abeille Liberté". The ship was finally towed to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue at 1.30 p.m. assisted by the local SNSM boat "Président Jules-Pinteaux".
