Medevac off Cap de la Chèvre

Mon Mar 09 09:47:38 CET 2015 Timsen

On Mar 8, 2015, at 9:27 p.m., the CROSS Corsen was alerted that a fisherman of 21 years on board the "En Avant" was suffering from chest pain. After a conference call between the Maritime Medical Consultation Center (MMCC) of Toulouse, the Medical Maritime Coordination in Finistère and the CROSS, a medical evacuation was decided. The seiner was three miles east of the Cap de la Chèvre and headed towards Douarnenez. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Navy which took off at 10:35 p.m. of the naval air base Lanvéoc-Poulmic with a medical team on board. At 10:50 p.m., the Cayman reached the seiner, and at 11:22 p.m., the patient was hoisted. He was transported to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest.
