Disabled fishing vessel towed to Newlyn
The Lizard RNLI lifeboat was launched on July 15, 2015, to assist the "Cezembre" with a crew of five on board that had caught its net around its propeller and rudder, 34 miles off Lizard Point. The lifeboat was launched just before 11 a.m. with a volunteer crew of six, to the "Cezembre". Once on scene the lifeboat passed a line across to the crew of the Cezembre who set up a towline. The vessel was then towed towards Newlyn and after over four hours the tow was handed over to Penlee RNLI lifeboat who then towed the vessel in to Newlyn Harbour where a diver was waiting. The obstruction was removed from the vessels propeller and the fishing boat then returned to work. The Lizard lifeboat returned to station at 6 p.m. Report with photo: http://rnli.org/NewsCentre/Pages/The-Lizard-RNLI-lifeboat-tows-a-24-metre-French-fishing-vessel-to-safety.aspx
