Fishing vessel assisted colleagues
The French f/v 'Azur AY.370409' suffered a fouled propeller in position 50 48 08.0N, 005 11 23.0W, 17 nautical miles northnorthwest of Trevose Head on Sep 2, 2021, at 8.50 p.m. with frozen fish. The 'Cap Lizard' came to assist and took the ship in tow to Roscoff, where it arrived on Sep 4.
Medevac off Fécamp
On Jan 25, 2019 around 4 p.m., the CROSS Jobourg was notified that a Portuguese sailor aboard the "Cap Lizard" was accidentally injured in the throat. The ship was 23 nautical miles northeast of Fécamp. The CROSS immediately communicates with the Toulouse Medical Medical Center and the Maritime Medical Coordination SAMU in Le Havre and a medevac was decided. The CROSS deployed a Dragon 76 helicopter of the Civil Security in Le Havre. The patrol boat "Themis", which was in the area with a nurse on board, diverted to the scene in support of the operation. The victim was hoisted aboard the Dragon 76 and taken to the hospital Jacques Monod in Le Havre where he was taken care of at 5:45 p.m.
Medevac off Roscoff
On Aug 12, 2016, at 10.35 p.m. the CROSS Gris-Nez was alerted by the "Cap Lizard" after a crew member was suffering health problems. The trawler was 113 nautical miles northwest of Roscoff in the British rescue area. During a conference call between the Maritime Medical Consultation Centre (MMCC) in Toulouse, the Medical Aid Service SAMU, the Medical Maritime Coordination in Finistère and the CROSS Gris-Nez, the decision was made to evacuate the fisherman to the hospital Cavale Blanche in Brest. The CROSS Corsen dispatched a Cayman helicopter of the Navy, which took off shortly before midnight of the naval air base Lanvéoc Poulmic with a medical team on board. Around 0:40, the helicopter hoisted the doctor aboard the trawler to take charge of the sailor. Once the medical team and the fisherman were hoisted aboard the helicopter, it proceeded to the hospital and arrived at 1:50 a.nm.
