Fire on fast ferry
On May 30, 2014, at 9.13 a.m. a fire broke out abaord the "Flybåten" docked in Tønsberg at the old fishing pier near the Channel Bridge. There should have been no people on board of the catamaran. Emergency services, the fire department and the Vestfold Police were on site, and the blaze could be brought under control by 9.30 a.m. The fire brigade entered the ship with smoke divers. As it was docked at a wooden pier, it might be necessary to tow the ferry outwards in the foremidday. Disabled catamaran pulled to port
An electrical fault stopped the "Flybåten" in the evening of July 12, 2013. The catamaran was taken alongside by the NSSR-lifeboat "Sjømann" and taken to Jarlsø. On board were 27 passengers plus Crew. The passenger disembarked once the ship was docked. The ferry had been on the last trip from Engelsviken to Tønsberg when the problems arose, and the rescue company was called. The lifeboat then towed the disabled ship to Husvik where an electrician dealt with the problem. On July 13 in the morning there were reports that the fault has been repaired and that the catamaran was operating again.
