Car caught fire on ferry deck
On Dec 3, 2015, a vehicle caught fire aboard the "Finnøy" enroute from Oanes to Lauvvik just before 11 a.m. The ferry was half loaded with an estimated 30 cars on board. Suddenly smoke there was tremendous smoke and flames that knocked out from a post car, accompanied by strong diesel smell. One of the travelers shattered the safety glass and retrieved a fire extinguishing apparatus. Also the ferry crew was instantly in place and put out the flames. The ship as 15 minutes late as a result of the fire, the cause of which was not yet clarified.
Life rafts suddenly inflated
The "Finnøy" had to be taken out of the service between Lauvvik and Oanes for more than six hours on July 12, 2015, after liferafts suddenly came loose from the ferry and inflated when it was about to dock in Oanes. The rafts ended up in the sea, and without adequate rescue means the traffic on the Høgsfjord had to be shut down until the afternoon. After alternative life rafts were found it could be resumed at 5 p.m. The cause of the incident was investigated.
