Stowaway in wheelchair
On July 1, 2016, at 1 a.m. the crew of the "Finnmaid" remarked a stowaway on board after the ferry had left Travemünde towards Helsinki. The federal Police was asked for support after they found an 31-year old Iranian national in a wheelchair who had no passport. It was found out that he had already been reported missing in Finland. Due to his health state an ambulance was called and the man taken to the Sana-Hospital Lübeck. It was found out that he had requested asylum in Finland. Meanwhile he was released from hospital on his own will.
Ambulances summoned to ferry in Lübeck
On Apr 11, 2016, at 3 p.m. rescue forces of firefighters and police were summoned to the Skandinavien Quay in Lübeck Travemünde after six dockworkers were complaining of nausea and eye irritation when carrying out cargo operations aboard the "Finnmaid". On scene were four ambulances, forces of the fire station 3. Measurings found no hazardous substances The water police has taken over the investigation.
Allision in Travemnünde
On Feb 14, 2014 at 9.45 p.m. the "Finnmaid". which was berthed at the Scandinavia Quay in Lübeck-Travemünde, was in allision with the German tank m/v "Annika" which was about to shift from dock 7 to dock 6. The stern of the 73-m-tanker got under the bow of the "Finnmaid". The superstructure of the "Annika" was severely damaged, the "Finnmaid" suffered only slight damage.
