Fire on trawler off Lerwick
The Shetland Coastguard went to the aid of the "Espemar Dos" which reported a fire on Nov 20, 2013, at 5 a.m. The Rescue helicopter 102 was dispatched to the vessel which was 100 miles west of Shetland, following a call from the Madrid Coastguard. Two crewmen suffering from smoke inhalation were airlifted from the vessel and brought back to the Clickimin landing site by 7.40 a.m. The men were taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital by ambulance. Meanwhile the master deemed the vessel safe to carry on fishing.
