Sun Feb 27 18:36:03 CET 2022 Timsen

Engine room fire off Chattogram

Fri Feb 25 09:59:02 CET 2022 Timsen

The engine of the "Bay One" caught fire in Kutubia on Feb 25, 2022, a few hours after leaving Chattogram for St Martin's in Cox's Bazar with about 1.000 passengers on board. The ship had sailed from Patenga at 10:30 p.m. on Feb 24. Smoke started coming out of the engine room at 12:20 a.m. The passengers were given life jackets. The situation was brought under control within one hour, and the ship anchored near the coast. The initial plan to continue to St. Martin was changed, and the ship returned to Chattogram, assisted by the tug 'Kandari-10' of Chittagong port at 10 a.m. Several crew members were injured in the incident. The ship berthed in Chattogram at around 8 a.m. Report with photos: https://www.tbsnews.net/bangladesh/cruise-ship-bay-one-engine-catches-fire-375907
