Two crew members burnt in ship fire

The Bangka Belitung SAR team succeeded in evacuating Nguyen Van Trinh (41) and Vo Quang Viet (35), two Vietnamese crew members of the 'AB Olivia' in the Karimata Strait, Riau Islands on Aug 15, 2023 at 2 a.m. WIB. The two crew members had suffered severe burns all over their bodies due to a fire that occurred in the bosun room of the tanker, en route from Singapore to Balikpapan. The injured were transferred onto the KN 'SAR Karna' of the Basarnas Bangka Belitung off the Rebo Beach. The first victim, Nguyen Van Trinh, suffered burns with conditions reaching 90 %. The second victim, Vo Quang Viet, suffered body burns with conditions around 60%. Bothe were taken to Pangkal Balam Port and then transported to the Siloam Pangkalpinang Hospital to receive medical treatment. READ ALSO:
