Freighter allided with two bridges

The 'Aramis' allided with two bridges on the Rhône river on Sep 28, 2019. First the vessel struck a road bridge and soon after crashed into a railway bridge. The superstructure, the foreship and other structures were heavily damaged in the accident, but the ship remained buoyant. The master was injured by broken glass and was medically treated. After the accident the ship was pulled to a quay near Lyon where repairs were planned. The accident was being investigated by the French Maritime Accident Investigation Board. The Ministry of Justice of Lithuania was informed about the incident. There was no damage to infrastructure and no pollution, no serious injuries. The crew of six remained on board since their contracts had not yet expired. Sine were exchanged since. The last AIS data of the vessel dated from Sep 27 when it was approaching Fos-sur-Mer. The vessel resumed sailing after repairs in Bejaia. She berthed at the Terminal Catalunya - Moll Princep d'Espanya in Barcelona on Jan 7, 2020, at 8.50 a.m. for cargo operations.
