Ferry damaged by fire during repairs

A fire broke out in the launry area in the aft of the 'Andros Queen' in the morning of June 21, 2022, at the Perama ship repair area, Piraeus. The fire was extinguished by two SAR ships, five fire engines and the 19 crew members on board. No injures were reported, while the extent of damages was yet unknown. The ship was undergoing repairs to be refitted for ferry services since April 12. The 4th Port Department of Perama of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus was conducting the preliminary investigation.

Ferry sold to Golden Star

The 'Silver Queen' which was said to being scrapped comes to Greece, after the 'Superferry II' has been sold by Golden Star to Seajets. She will get an upgarding in a Greek shipyard and shall be in service for the summer season. 2023. Not before. The conversion will take place between April 2022 and January 2023.
