Container ship saved distressed fishermen
The "CMA GGM Baudelaire" saved a distressed fishing crew 40 miles off Peru enroute from Chile to Panama mid of October, 2014. The Ecuadorian f/v had sailed one week ago from Puerto Bolivar, and after the engine and battery failed, the 10-m-boat drifted 120 miles out into the Pacific. They were safeky taken aboard, while the crew replaced the battery and refuelled the boat which then headed home.
