Ship disabled on the Elbe
On March 4, 2019, the "Katharina Schepers" suffered an engine failure on the Elbe off Otterndorf. The disabled ship was caught by the winds of the storm Bennet and drifted perpendicular to the fairway. Tugs were called to assist. The crew then managed to get the engine running again, and the vessel continued the voyage from Bremerhaven to Hamburg, where it berthed at the Athabaska Quay at 10.30 p.m. The ship sailed again on March 6 at 10 a.m., bound to Copenhagen, ETA March 7, 10 a.m. German report with photo: https://www.cnv-medien.de/news/bei-sturm-in-not-vor-otterndorf.html

Allision in Kiel Canal
On Dec 2, 2017, at 9.40 a.m. the "Katharina Schepers" allided with a dolphin at canal kilometer 92 during the transit of the Kiel Canal being westbound from Helsingborg to Bremerhaven. The dolphin was pushed towards the southern embankment in an angle of 10 bis 15°. The ship continued the voyage where the damage to the hull was investigated by the water police Brunsbüttel. It berthed at 5.50 p.m. and continued the voyage on Dec 3 at 10.30 p.m., arriving in Bremerhaven on Dec 4 at 5 a.m.
