Tuna seiner rescued castaways 25 days after shipwreck

Thu Sep 03 11:19:47 CEST 2015 Timsen

On Sep 2, 2015, at 11:08 oa.m. the "Franche Terre"located a liferaft with three shipwrecked men on board. The fishing vessel informed the CROSS Reunion. The castaways were from the ship "Rocker" which had sunk on Aug 8 at the edge of the Amirante Islands. The three crew members drifted for more than 25 days. The raft was located more than 380 nautical miles northwest of the islands. The castaways were treated by the crew of the "Franche Terre", and their condition seems satisfactory. They were taken to the port of Victoria, where the tuna seiner was expected on Sep 4 by the Seychelles authorities.
